Over winter break, Brother Eduardo Heranandez participated in a two day outreach program.

Brother Hernandez was invited by a friend who attends UC Berkeley to speak to disadvantaged students at local high schools in Bakersfield, CA alongside other students from the RAZA Center at UC Berkeley, which does outreach like this throughout the year to increase Latino and Latina enrollment to four year universities. The group visited South High School and Highland High School and spoke to various College Prep, AP, and AVID classes consisting of Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors.

The presentations and discussions focused on subjects ranging from A through G requirements for classes, extra curricular activities, personal statements, and financial aid. Through this experience, Brother Hernandez was about to share his experiences with the application process, the transition process from high school to college, moving to a new city, and the different resources that are available to students either online or on their campus.

Brother Hernandez is pictured second to left from the presentation screen.
